Area Scouts from Valley District prepare exhibits for the 1986 Exposition at the National Guard Armory this Saturday from 2 to 8 30 pm. Troops will demonstrate rope making tracking knots first aid woodworking and pinewood derby displays while Order of the Arrow members manage refreshments. Proceeds support Boy and Cub Scout activities as Rhyner Loeffel Oostdik Bahr and Smith coordinate the event to showcase Scouting in Action to thousands across four U S Grant Council districts.

District 1 Dairyland Contest May Be Green County Site
The District 1 Alice in Dairyland contest may be held in Green County this year due to strong dairy support. Grant, Lafayette, Iowa and Green counties are in District 1 with possible dates April 30 May 7 May 14 or May 21. Myron Jeglum said 14 contests occur statewide with winners advancing to Eau Claire June 9 10 and 11 for the state title. The current Alice will promote Wisconsin farm products nationally through extensive travel.

Monroe mourns Mrs Fannie Blumer 97 a resident of 1814 8th St who died at 5:40 PM yesterday in St Clare Hospital after a stroke. She was born March 23 1869 in Washington Township married John Blumer Feb 7 1880, farmed west of Monticello, retired to town in 1924, lived with son Werner and daughter in law in Monroe. Survived by two sons Werner and Lester three grandchildren two great grandchildren. Milk production in February falls 8 percent from 1965
MAUSdun and Wisconsin milk output declined eight percent in February compared with a year earlier, totaling 1,451,000 pounds versus 1,580,000. The drop stemmed from fewer cows and lower average per cow production, per the State Department of Agriculture. Thirty other states also reported February declines.

Hearing Planned for Firm Manager in Embezzlement Case
LANCASTER James Laxton 38 manager of the Boscobel Farmer office faces a preliminary hearing next Monday on charges of embezzling $10,000. He was released on a $5,000 cash bond after returning from California to Madison where Grant County Sheriff Roy Graney met him at the airport. Vicki Neuberger Honored At Springtime In Stereo Concert
A capacity audience celebrated senior Vicki Neuberger daughter of Mr and Mrs Stanley Neuberger for musical contributions to school and community at the Springtime in Stereo concert. Allan F Barnard high school band conductor presented the tribute as Vicki performed a piano solo with the symphonic band. The program included a surprise appearance by Stanley Neuberger and sons Steve Tim and family in Bright Eyes, with Stanley on trumpet and the boys on cornets. Vicki has served as organist at Mt Olive Lutheran Church since seventh grade and played in multiple school and community ensembles while teaching private lessons. The Cadet Band delivered varied selections including the Funeral March of a Marionette and Rachmaninoff Prelude in C Sharp Minor, ending with Our Family Band accompaniment.

Plans for a public Loyalty Day program were finalized at Cecil Jones Post 2312 of the VFW last night. The event on the Court House lawn will feature a flag ceremony and VFW oath for members who have not yet taken it. Elections are set for April 26, and Milton Steiner is named chair for the program. Glenn L. Kubly spoke on the Viet Nam situation highlighting the green beret service forces. Refreshments were provided by Commander Fred Felder.
