Western leaders agree on three point plan for summit talks

President Eisenhower and Prime Minister Macmillan propose a three point approach to a Khrushchev summit. Foreign ministers from the Big Four would meet May 11 in Geneva to address German issues and narrow Soviet Western differences. A heads of government meeting would occur when justified by foreign minister progress.

Six Die In Wisconsin Traffic Toll Seven: Weekend Fatalities

Six people died in Wisconsin traffic accidents over the weekend, raising the 1959 toll to 127. Victims included Richard Helt 20 Milwaukee and Daniel Duerr 34 Brookfield, among others, in crashes across Grant Waukesha Antigo Oshkosh and Hartford areas.

Mayor and Board Clash Over Snow Removal Claims

The Board of Public Works and Mayor Victor N. Schiller spar over paying for snow removal. Schiller seeks a state legislative amendment to allow payment for personal service, claiming $30 already paid and $20 billed, plus about $120 in other claims. Iola Physician Held For Theft of Antiques

A 41 year old Iola physician, Dr Ralph Wiley, pleaded guilty in justice court to larceny charges. Sheriff Ray Abrahamson said he looted 11 vacant farmhouses in Waupaca and Portage counties, mostly furnishing his own home. all antiques were recovered and he awaits circuit court appearance.

Flu Epidemic Delays Brodhead School Concert

The annual spring music concert at Brodhead tonight at 8 is postponed to April 8 due to illness among students. About 60 high school pupils and many grade school students were absent today because of flu. Ronald Rockow is the music instructor.

Bottom Falls Out Of Township Roads Slows Mail Delivery

Township roads became impassable due to mud not snow. Postmaster Burkhrard said the bottom has fallen out of many roads hindering rural carriers, with two carriers stuck nine hours on a route. Warmth and circling floods forecast, rivers receding. robins spotted in Monroe.

Virginia Family Slaying Mystery

Police pursue a theory that an itinerant sawmill worker killed a Virginia family of four. The mass slaying spanned Mineral, Fredericksburg, and Gambrills near sawmills. Carroll V. Jackson Jr. and his 18 month old daughter Janet were found March 5. Mrs. Jackson and 5 year old Susan Ann were found in Gambrills on March 16 after a ten week search.

Weekend Traffic Mishaps injure Man and Boy

A 6 year old Monroe boy and a Juda man were injured in county traffic accidents over the weekend. Jeffrey Gibbons suffered a broken left leg when struck by a car driven by neighbor Ivan J. Boyer near the Gibbons home. Boyer heard the boy cry out as he backed from his driveway. The leg was swollen and not yet cast. Floyd W Buttke of Juda received scratches and bruises after falling from his car and being run over, sheriff deputies said. Another accident near Smiley school involved Kenneth W Rhyner of Albany as his car rolled after leaving waterlogged tires. Minor damage occurred to several other vehicles in unrelated incidents on Saturday.

Warm Weather To Bring Floods Across Wisconsin

The U S Weather Bureau warned of serious flooding in southern Wisconsin as temperatures rise into the 50s and spring snow melt continues. Floods are expected on the lower Wisconsin River and its tributes including the Kickapoo Lemonweir Yellow and Baraboo Rivers with crest projections in late March at Durand Galesville Wisconsin Rapids Portage and Muscoda, while the Mississippi should stay dry.

Jaycees to Honor Green County Junior Citizen

Roland Earl Sarbacker 13 died when he became entangled in a rope hanging from a barn track while feeding sheep on his parents farm near Monroe. Six Children Die in Mississippi Cabin Fire

Six children aged five weeks to eleven years burned to death in a plantation cabin fire in Greenville Mississippi. Beatrice McGee the mother said she was in Winterville on an errand when the blaze started in a wood stove and spread rapidly through the structure.

Praying Tot Killed In Collision of Cars

A two year old boy named Philip Dwayne Roberts was killed when he knelt in prayer in the front seat of his father Gordon Roberts vehicle in a head on crash near Nashville Tennessee. The father and wife were en route to work and the family was holding an evening devotional as the collision occurred. Several others were injured.

Milwaukee Man Held as Winner of 2000 Award

FBI announced the arrest of 11 people in a nationwide swindle tied to newspaper puzzle contests including Milwaukee Sentinel. James Francis Theodore of Milwaukee collected 2710 from the Sentinel in a November contest. The ring operated from Canada with Suburban Publishers Ltd and Middlesex Trust Co, using fake newspaper names and a non existent Canada based company.
