Class A tempera winners were Thomas MacInnis and Ronald Goecke. tagboard and tissue paper winner Larry Kopp. Class B first prize went to Mary Zupane. Elizabeth Ripp took second in Class B. Awards and judging details followed with forthcoming district level judging and April club presentation.

Fleeing Gunman Causes Terror
A gunman hijacked a family, held three members hostage in Eugene Oregon, and was fatally shot after a three hour pursuit that included exchanges of gunfire. A wounded passerby and an infant escaped unharmed as police closed in and the robber died in Sacred Heart Hospital. The episode escalated after he tried a market hold up and led officers on a downtown chase. The gunman identified as Harvey LeRoy Baker also known as David LeRoy Lathman had ties to Modesto California and Salem Oregon. In Detroit, Mayor Jerome P. Cavanagh announces a bid for the U S Senate.

Stan Bran’s Outdoors Calling on WMTV Channel 15 Madison will showcase the most remarkable color tornado photo from near Monroe taken three minutes before the Palm Sunday 1965 twister. Two Deaths Boost Traffic Toll to 162
Two people died in Wisconsin traffic incidents Friday night and today, raising the year toll to 162. Leon Mayfield, 37, of Milwaukee, was killed while changing a tire on a Milwaukee street. Mrs. Norman Krueger, 50, of Edgerton, died in an accident at Highway 59 and Interstate 90 in Walworth County. her husband’s car collided with a truck and Krueger was listed in satisfactory condition earlier.UN
