Soviet Voskhod 2 lands west of Urals after 24 hour flight
The Voskhod 2 mission ended with a safe landing west of the Ural Mountains near Perm after 17 orbits and an 18th orbit. Cosmonaut Alexei Leonov briefly floated in space proving out long duration space operations. Tass reported both pilots Belyayev and Leonov are well and the scientific program was fully accomplished.

Monticello Woman Critical After Highway 69 Crash
Mrs. Matt Bissig of Monticello remains in critical condition at St. Clare Hospital after a two car head on collision about 12:30 p m yesterday on Highway 69 north of Monroe. Meythaler of Monroe lost control on ice causing the crash in which Bissig suffered severe head injuries. Meythaler and family were en route to a state basketball tournament when the accident occurred.
