Police on Kidnapers Trail Free Four U S Airmen

Police said they were on the kidnappers trail after four U S airmen were released Monday night following five days in captivity. The Turkish People’s Liberation Army had demanded up to 400000 dollars and threatened to shoot the captives if not paid by Saturday. Interior Minister Montesoglu announced a dragnet as hundreds of officers searched a high rent district near Embassy Row for the suspects. The kidnappers telephoned acquaintances Monday seeking to recover the captives.

Wisconsin experts to discuss farm waste and water control

Black Hawk students place 1st and 2nd in state contest

South Wayne's Bill Gobeli and Melanie Mahlbuch of Black Hawk High School earned first and second place in a statewide mathematics contest sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America. About 27,000 students from 350 high schools competed on February 11. Gobeli, son of the Gobeli family of Wiota, will receive an engraved certificate and a math book. Mahlbuch, daughter of the Mahikuchs of South Wayne, plans to attend Wisconsin State University at Platteville and both may advance to the final state contest in Platteville on March 27.
