One of three candidates for county judge will be eliminated in a special primary set for tomorrow in Monroe. Incumbent Marshall L Peterson L A Koenig and John P Derning of Brodhead vie for two spots on the April 5 ballot. Polls open 9 a m to 5 30 p m with results expected early evening. Banks offices and courts open. taverns closed during polling hours. The winner starts a full six year term next January. Other April 5 races include County Board towns Monroe City Council and city officials.

Five Die In Wisconsin Weekend Accidents
Five people died in Wisconsin over the weekend in separate crashes and a plane crash. James Gallagher, 27, of Green Bay, lost control on Highway 41 141 near Green Bay. passenger Jerry Cavanaugh, 28, Manitowoc, was seriously injured. Harold Pierce, 49, Madison, a taxi driver, died in a head on collision near the Dane County fair grounds. Charles Halvorson, 15, Water Town, died when the car he rode in hit a truck on Highway 19 near Watertown. Charles Jordon, 56, Waukesha, was fatally injured when his car skidded on snow on Highway 59 and hit a tree near Waukesha. Jordon’s death was blamed on winter conditions. Dr. Harold Meisenheimer, Arlington Heights, Ill., was killed when his light plane crashed seven miles north of Oconomowoc.

Frank Arthur 89 a former resident of Jordan Township and Jefferson Townships died at 7:15 p m yesterday in Mercy hospital Janesville. He lived at 511 S Jackson St Janesville since retiring from farming. Born Jan 7 1866 in Janesville he lived in Jordan Township from infancy. He married Mary Ellen Galway Jan 16 1892 in Monroe. she died in 1901. He then married Rosetta Kane Feb 3 1921 in Janesville. she died Nov 24 1952. Surviving: two daughters Julia Arthur and Mrs James Stearns of Janesville four grandchildren three great grandchildren and a brother Edward of Beloit. A son Austin and four brothers and five sisters preceded him. Services Wednesday in Janesville at 9 am in Kimball Nelson funeral home then 9:30 am at St Marys Catholic Church burial in Calvary Cemetery Monroe. Rosary 8 pm tomorrow with calling hours Monday and Tuesday night.
