State To Assist In Swiss Checkup
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture will help the Swiss cheese industry study how Finnish imports affect the domestic market and will conduct an inquiry of its own. G. Fred Galli, head of the Wisconsin Swiss and Limburger Cheese Producers Association, reported after meetings in Washington with Rep. Henry C. Schadeberg and staff and an appointment with Walter Roy of the Bureau of Customs. He also spoke with Rep. Vernon Thomson and the Finnish embassy cultural attaché. Galli's daughter Carol, a Washington government employee, joined him at the International airport where they were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schultz of Elkhorn. Schultz, former Monroe High School graduates with Miss Galli, is moving to Washington to manage a new branch factory for A. O. Smith Corp.

Trading was moderately active with volume around 4.9 million shares versus 9.28 million on Wednesday. Most key stocks moved within fractions to a point. gains and losses were narrow as the market edged from an early decline after a three day push to record highs. The selling tapered later and there was some improvement.
