Eleven County Dairy Queens Named For Coming Year
The final three Dairy Queens were crowned in ceremonies, bringing the county total to eleven. Brooklyn selects Terri Elmer 16 as Brooklyn Dairy Queen for 1973 74 with Robin Templeton and Becky Legler as runners up. Terri competes in 4 H and is active in church and school activities. Belleville crowns Cindy Konopacki 16 with Kriss Tollefson and Jill Ruppert as runners up. Cindy plans to be a Belleville High School senior and works on a 230 acre farm recently moved from Lake Geneva area.

Historical society receives major bequest in Monroe
At the Green County Historical Society annual meeting in the Little Red Schoolhouse the Alice Acherman estate was revealed as a major bequest. The will leaves the Acherman home at 1732 16th St to be used as the Beller Acherman Green County Historical Society Home with a memorial room and $10,000 in trust for maintenance. If the society declines the gift, the city of Monroe will receive the home and $10,000 for upkeep for spin sters and widows. Mrs Acherman died April 26 at 95, formerly Alice Beller, widow of Joseph Acherman, a cheese industry veteran who died in 1944.
