In Rhinelander Wisconsin an explosion destroyed a two story frame house killing 67 year old Cora Morgan and her granddaughter Jane Morgan 1. The child’s mother Shirley Morgan 31 was severely burned and survived. Fire chief says cause unknown and no gas service at the home. Madison Man Killed in Crash in River Hills
A Madison man, Eugene M. Devitt, 32, died in a one car crash on River Road in River Hills at 3 25 AM after skidding 75 feet into a utility pole and two trees. Firefighters freed him from wreckage. The incident followed a minutes earlier departure from a country club setting. Charlene Mark 16, of Janesville, died from injuries in a separate Highway 14 crash east of Janesville. Marie E Braunschweigh 16 of Rural Ixonia died when her vehicle left Highway 55 and hit a tree north of Antigo.
