Tigers Bring Hoeft Into Detroit Fold On One Year Pact
Oshkosh high school standout pitcher Bill Hoeft signed a one year non-bonus contract with the Detroit Tigers. He will report to the Toledo Mud Hens before a likely assignment to Richmond Indiana in the Ohio Indiana league. Kennedy and Moriarity represented Detroit at the signing witnessed by Hoeft's parents and coach.

Cattle and calves: steers and heifers mostly steady to 50 cents lower on lower grades, cows 22.00 to 23.50, vealers steady, bulls 22.00 to 24.25, select steers around 31.50 per 1255 pounds, Nebraska loads 30.75.
