A Wednesday night blaze near Oregon destroyed the Arden Arlie Denton farm barn, three miles southwest of Oregon. Four fire departments including Brooklyn Belleville and Oregon fought the flames after a 10 p.m. discovery. hay storage and hog shed were ruined but main barn and other buildings survived. Cause under investigation. Cooperative aid extended from Stoughton Belleville and Brooklyn.

Genealogy Workshop in Janesville Opens June 21
An all day event sponsored by the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society will be at the Janesville Public Library on Main Street. Activities include research in the local history section, a visit to the Rock County Register of Deeds, a Tallman House tour, and a beginners class with a cemetery visit possible weather permitting. Registration begins at 9 30 a.m. and there is no fee to attend the workshop. A separate Tallman House visit has a fee.

An exhibit featuring art by child and adolescent patients from Mendota and Winnebago State Hospitals opens in the lobby of the First National Bank of Monroe and a smaller display at the Bank of Monticello. Sponsored by Green County Wisconsin Association for Mental Health and the Wisconsin Bureau of Mental Hygiene, it aims to show that disturbed youths possess normal talents. The tour runs through 1968 1969 and will be returned to artists after closing.
