Kubly Park Dedicated With Community Support
A patriotic ceremony marked the dedication of Kubly Park five miles north of Monroe. Land donor Alvin A. Kubly and the Argus 4H Club led the effort, with G. Fred Galli lauding Kubly and the community spirit. The park features a Swiss shelter, picnic tables, a spring-fed pond, nature trails, 12 000 trees and shrubs, plus camping space. The VFW Color Guard, flags, and taps highlighted the program, with many volunteers and donors acknowledged for making the project possible.

Stone Arc Garana Wins Blue Ribbon at Wisconsin Arabian Show
Stone Arc Garana, a pure bred Arabian stallion owned by Stone Arc Stables in Monroe, captured a silver tray and blue ribbon in the four year old stallion class at the 12th annual Wisconsin All Arabian Horse Show held at Dane County Fairgrounds in Madison. Over 400 horses from 12 states attended. Garana is sired by Raf Farana, once owned by Mrs. Lucille Wuethrich and now by Hen-Hur Arabians. Mrs. Kenneth Wyss exhibited Stone Arc Garana.

Auto Swerves Rams Bridge Abutment Tragedy At Monroe
A 70 year old Waterloo woman, Estella R. Johnson, died at St. Clare Hospital after a car driven by her daughter, Donna J. Murray, struck the IC trestle bridge abutment on Highways 11 81 in Monroe. Coroner ruled accidental death from head injuries. Murray, 41, of Milwaukee, was treated for a lip cut and contusions and released. Johnson was Green County’s third traffic fatality in 1966.

Russell block and Toni Pederson were crowned king and queen of the 1966 4H Junior Leaders Prom Misty Moonlight held at Monroe High School Room. Guard Officer Praised After Military Truck Crash
A Waukesha officer, Second Lt. Francis Arndorfer, 21, is hailed a hero after a National Guard truck carrying 14 soldiers overturned and burned on Interstate 90-94 near Mauston. He helped evacuate his men before being seriously injured himself and remaining in good condition at a local hospital. Eleven others were treated for injuries, with several still hospitalized.
