Tractor contest winner Mike Albright earns state chance

Mike Albright age 16 of Rt 2 won the Green County 4H tractor driving contest held Friday. He advances to the statewide event July 6 in Madison. Teammates included Gary Keough Ed Wettach and Brian Brugger. Albright is a six year Dutch Hollow 4-H Club member with three tractor projects and drives the home farm on a 107 acre system.

Nixon Acknowledges Talks With John Dean

The White House confirmed President Nixon met John Dean III this year about the Watergate affair but said logs of time and place will not be provided to the Justice Department or Senate investigators. Deputy press secretary Warren said aides kept diaries but logs are not subject to subpoena.

Weekend quiet in Hudson as Minnesota drinkers cross border

Wisconsin's 1973 highway fatality toll rose to 408 with one death today and 16 over the weekend. In Hudson, Minnesota youths ages 18 20 found little trouble on a border Saturday as a bartender and owner predicted they would return. the quiet scene contrasted with the usual weekend bustle.

Breakfast costs rise as basket shows price gains

An Associated Press market basket survey across 13 cities found 35.4 percent of 15 items rose from March 1 to June 1, 20.5 percent fell, 41.5 percent unchanged, and 2.6 percent unavailable. Coffee and eggs led increases while butter and pork chops declined in many cities.

Aviation experts combed the TU144 wreckage after a Sunday Paris air show crash in Goussainville. Fourteen people died and 28 were injured as the supersonic airliner plunged, broke apart, and flames scorched the town.

Skylab crew plans space walk to free jammed solar panel
