Grendah Wins 1000 Grant in Monroe High Scholarships
Seventeen Monroe High School seniors receive local scholarships. Stuart Grendahl earns the Harriet T. Six Auto Crashes Leave Six Injured Across Area
Multiple traffic accidents reported after a holiday weekend left six people hurt. Gary Armitage of Albany and several others from Monroe Brodhead Argyle Browntown and Rockford were treated at St. Clare Hospital for injuries ranging from neck and facial cuts to bruises and possible head injuries.

More than 200 people gathered at Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus for the June Dairy Month kickoff breakfast launching a county wide dairy promotion. Sponsors included Green County Agricultural Chest Inc and local government groups with remarks by Richard Horn and Steven Renk.

Form dough, chill, roll, cut into twenty 2½ inch squares, fill with 2 teaspoon preserves, fold into triangles, bake 12 minutes at 375 degrees, dust with sugar. Yield about 40 cookies. Baccalaureate speaker Martyn inspires Monroe Class of 1969
Former forensics teacher turned seminary student Martyn addressed the Monroe High School 1969 seniors in the Junior High Auditorium on June 1. He urged flexible, inclusive thinking as they face social challenges and a changing world, urging weighing facts and listening to all sides. The service featured the Mixed Chorus, hymns, and a participatory opening hymn, with prayers by Rev. Kalscheuer and invocations by Rev. Pinnow.
