Two Monroe Teens Injured In City Crash
Two 15 year old Monroe girls were treated at Monroe Clinic for injuries after a two car crash at the 17th avenue and 12th street intersection. Mary Condon suffered facial cuts and a bruised knee while Phyllis Mohns had a severely bruised knee cap and bruises to the left hand and leg. Edgar A. Anderson of 906 10th street drove the car carrying the teens. Alma Tollkson of rural Argyle drove the other vehicle. Considerable damage occurred to both cars.

Official Explains Temporary Odor in Monroe
Rex N. Eyler chairman of the Board of Public Works says the Western Monroe odor comes from material stored in the lagoon not the sewage plant. He notes cleaned material dried in the lagoon and limed daily, but warm weather reduces effectiveness. Eyler calls the situation temporary and emphasizes the plant is operating properly.
