Nine Die in Crash of Big Navy Plane
Nine men were killed and two injured when a Neptune bomber crashed at Quonset naval air base. The pilot and co pilot escaped with minor injuries while the rest of the crew were trapped in the wreckage. The aircraft bound for Argentina took off with nine passengers plus crew and returned after 23 minutes with one engine on fire and fatalities.

Reverend Samuel E. Taylor 86 of Richland Center died in a Madison hospital after a fall on February 1. A retired United Brethren minister, he served major pastorates in Monroe Janesville and Peetz Colorado and led the Wisconsin conference for three years. Survived by wife, three daughters, two sons and a sister. services Saturday at 2 p.m. at Richland Center Evangelical United Brethren Church with several pastors officiating. burial in Richland Center cemetery.
