Centennial Green County Fair Opens Next Week
The Centennial edition of the Green County Fair is set to open next Wednesday with hopes of a record turnout. Officials seek a daily attendance surpassing 13,200 and a five day total near last year’s 26,040 paid admissions, not counting exhibitors or season tickets. The fair features a Friday noon Centennial parade, beard contest judging Friday, grandstand shows, talent nights, and a full program including harness racing and the Fair Follies of ’54. Officers include President Louis R. Wolleson and committee chair Milton Johnson with broad community participation across 4-H FFA FHA and livestock sections.
