Tractor Contest Resumes Tonight At Green County Fair
Scores of contestants from far and near return for a three state tractor pulling event at the Green County Fair. Last night saw 60 entrants in the 5 000 and 8 000 pound classes with more expected in the 6 500 and 10 000 pound classes tonight. Dale Schramm of Ostrander Minn earned note for greatest distance but did not place. Top winners will be crowned in four classes. no pull off between last night and tonight. John Bartels chairs the pull, Kenneth Vesperman promoted it. Monroe led a tractor parade in a John Deere mower and wagon. The new 220 foot concrete track hosted last night’s competition. Eugene Kauss won the 8 000 class sportsmanship trophy, Bill Endrulat won the 5 000 pound trophy.
