Monroe Evening Times (Newspaper) - July 29, 1971, Monroe, Wisconsin Norwegian Midsummer Celebration times entertainment Page 3 a norwegian Midsummer Celebration will be held at folklore Village and Wakefield school West of Ridgeway aug. 3-8. The festival begins with registration at 2 . Wednesday aug. 4, at Wakefield. That afternoon the first session will be conducted by the special guests from Norway. Guests include the hard anger fiddle Champion for the last three years Torleiv Bolstad and his wife Kjellaug who is a Folk dancer and the Champion dancers Anders and Sidsel am Markrud. They Are in this country for nordic fest at Decorah Iowa. They will have a pre festival concert with the folklore Village International dancers tuesday evening aug. 3. Ingar Sodal and his wife. Solfrid. Boulder colo., will be on the staff for the Rural Dodgeville Ridgeway event. Mary Frances Anderson of Colorado Springs colo., will be giving a demonstration on the old norwegian Art of Rose Maling. Harold and Elsa Natvig of Mankato minn., will add real scandinavian atmosphere to the festival foods. Wednesday evening will be the first official meal of the event. There will be an authentic norwegian smorgasbord on saturday night for which extra reservations May be made.
