Entries at the Green County Fair show gains in open class and Junior Fair. reserved amphitheater seats for the two day harness races go on sale tomorrow at 8 a.m. at Schuetzes and then at the fairgrounds amphitheater office. The fair opens next Wednesday with judging starting then and educational and cheese entries judged earlier.

A Bordens Food Co. car stolen from in front of the Glenn H Kubly residence at 2419 7th Street Tuesday night was found abandoned last night on a gravel road near the junction of County Trunks K and KS. An employee driver spotted it, Monroe police were notified, and the car was found to be running and undamaged.

Scouts Safe and Happy at Colorado Jamboree

Doctor's Body Found in Woods Near Dubuque
The FBI reports the body of missing Iowa physician Dr Edward Roy Bartels was found in a wooded area near the Illinois border after an overnight search. Ex convict Victor Harry Fegner, 25, was arrested in Birmingham for selling the physician’s car and faces kidnapping charges. another man Jack Hale, 30, is jailed for auto theft. Bartels, a 32 year old father of three, disappeared July 11 after a call about a sick woman in a Dubuque rooming house. Fegner spent a week in Milwaukee after release from a Michigan prison in April.
