Break-in Reported At Beverage Firm

P C Hunt 74 Dies. Rites Planned for Wednesday
Perviance Clark Hunt died suddenly at his home 1128 24th St at 8 10 last night. He was born June 20 1892 in Alliance Neb and trained as a piano tuner and repairman. He worked with Wurlitzer Co in DeKalb and had a 75 mile service radius from Monroe. He was a former noble grand of Monroe IOOF lodge and a longtime member of Union Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his two wives Mabel Milem and Susan Evans. Rites set for Wednesday.

Cattle Killed In Road Mishap Near Monticello
Three angus cattle were killed when struck by a car driven by Hans R Schlapbach of Albany about 9 am five miles southeast of Monticello on Highway 39. A passenger, Helen Schlapbach, suffered a cut arm and skinned knee. The cattle were owned by Hollis Baebler of Monticello. Deputies reported one animal hurt and the car damaged heavily.

Rescue workers continued the search for 7-year-old Ruth Ann Miller after she fell into an abandoned copper mine in Calumet Michigan. Teams removed chunks of a broken five ton concrete slab as work proceeded through the night. A second cap on the shaft was found about 400 feet below the mine mouth.
