Belleville Girl Injured Sliding Under Parked Car
A 5 year old Belleville girl, Jane Ellen Manion, was severely injured yesterday afternoon when her sled went under a parked car. She needed over 50 stitches for a head wound and chin lacerations. The driver halted the car, believing the sled would miss the vehicle. She was taken to St. Clare hospital and is reported in good condition today.

Agriculture Leader Edwin Griffith Dies at 49 in Monroe
Edwin B. Griffith, 49, trust officer and farm service official for Commercial and Savings Bank, died at 7 05 a m in St. Clare hospital after a coronary seizure. A Evansville native and owner of champion Shetland ponies, he moved to Monroe in 1952 to help start 4 H pony work and served Green County agriculture communities. He was treasurer of Green County Farm Foundation since its April 1953 founding.
