Family slain and couple hunted in Lincoln murder case
In Lincoln Nebraska a father Marion Bartlett 57 mother Velda Bartlett 36 and their 2 year old daughter were found dead near a small home behind a warning sign. The bodies show the parents shot with the child dying from a skull fracture. Lancaster County Atty Elmer Schelle said two teenagers Carol Fugate 15 and Charles Starkweather 19 are being questioned.

Polio Drive Nets 1700 As 200 Workers Help
Mrs James Gerondale chair of the March of Dimes Mother’s March praised more than 200 workers who collected over 1700 in a one hour house to house campaign. Green County chapter officials called the drive highly successful with a tentative total of 1707.08, about 400 more than 1957. The Jan uary drive climaxed the campaign as Kantro and the Mother’s March continue to accept contributions. The chapter spent nearly 8000 in 1957 aiding patients and providing free polio vaccine. Ward leaders from several areas are listed with the drive continuing.

Thomson Delays Decision on Vote in First District
