The United States and the Soviet Union have tentatively agreed on a date early next month for their final step to join the treaty outlawing nuclear weapon spread. Diplomatic efforts aim to bring enough other nations on board to activate the treaty simultaneously.
Milwaukee Mayor Henry Maier rejects state Rep. Robert Huber’s claim he will announce a gubernatorial bid in April. Maier says he will not be announcing any candidacy in April and dismisses the odds as inaccurate.
In Milwaukee a huge cache of hashish and LSD seized from an apartment led to bonds set at 2000 and 2500 for Dana W Hope 21 and Connie L Fitzpatrick 20. Cap Leonard Ziolkowski estimated the haul at about 17000 street value from 1 pound hashish and 2866 LSD tablets. In Rock county two Janesville bookstore operators were convicted of selling obscene materials Myron Amato and Jack Rockey both Illinois residents.
