Casper Durtschi of Monticello Dies at 69
Casper Durtschi 69 of Washington Township died at 9 30 a m yesterday at his home nine miles northwest of Monroe after a cerebral hemorrhage. Born October 9 1884 in Canton Bern Switzerland he came to the United States in 1900 settling in Town County as a cheesemaker. He married Elizabeth Jaggs April 17 1913 at Belleville and later operated a cheese factory near Barneveld before moving to a Monticello area farm in 1929. He was a member of St Johns church Monroe and survived by his wife five sons Fred and Herman Monticello William Stockton Arthur Brownwood Tex Alvin at home five daughters Mrs Ernest Holt Monticello Mrs Robert Alm Mrs Lloyd G Siedschlag and Mrs John F Black all of Monroe and Mrs Robert Legler Adams Township two brothers John Mr Hor eb and Melchair Portland Oregon 15 grandchildren his parents a sister and a brother in Switzerland preceded him in death. Services will be Wednesday at 130 pm at the Shriner Neush wander funeral home with Rev Paul C Kehle of St Johns church officiating burial in Greenwood cemetery.

Four men were injured in three county accidents over the weekend near Monroe. James Newman 21 Orangeville underwent knee surgery after a crash on county trunk SS seven miles northeast of Monroe. Fire Engine Crashes To Avoid Car in Path
