Ellen Baltzer To Head New Suburbanite Club

Ellen Baltzer elected president of a newly formed Suburbanite Club at a meeting held at Mrs. Jack Kundert's home. Debby Smith as vice president and Sally Duchow as secretary lead a slate that includes Donna Sager as treasurer and Nathan Burgy as recreation leader, with project leaders listed as Mrs. Kundert Miss Hanson and Mrs. Swiggum. About 12 members, next meeting set for 7 p.m. February 11, with joiners invited to contact the extension office.

Death Seems Near Churchill Still In Deep Sleep

The 99 year old wartime leader Sir Winston Churchill remained unconscious and in a deep sleep after a cerebral thrombosis and circulatory weakness. Lord Moran said no material change, as crowds outside and family stayed by the Hyde Park Gate residence. Messages of concern came from President Johnson and Japanese Prime Minister Sato, while Churchill’s past vigor was evident in the V for victory gesture from the window.

Churchill's Grandson Namesake Awaits Child

Minnie Churchill wife of Winston S. Churchill’s grandson was in London’s Westminster Hospital for prenatal care amid a possible difficult delivery. At 24 she is the daughter of Sir Gerald D’Erlanger and wife of Randolph Churchill, married last July and told Sir Winston of a coming great grandchild.

Bovine TB Found In 8 Area Herds

Dr. A A Erdmann verified bovine tuberculosis in Albany Township Green County affecting eight herds with 130 reactors. Both dairy and beef cattle were tested under the state federal eradication plan, quarantines placed, reactors slaughtered, and 141 exposed non reactors slated for slaughter with indemnity under regulations. State personnel will disinfect infected premises before restocking.

The Monroe Planning Commission received a report from Green Engineering Co detailing a need for more local parking now and space for future growth. Mlunrue senior cnuaren have taken consent slips home prior to participation or non participation in the Histoplasmosis testing to be done here. The testing program is a cooperative project between the Green County Medical Society and the State Board of Health. Dr Edward Zupane Monroe pediatrician and Mrs Kathryn Etter city nurse will set up the testing procedures. The test is almost identical to the skin test used in the tuberculin program.

The American Farm Bureau Federation will host a statewide series with a Jan 21 session at 1 30 p m in Turner Hall. Three Matmen Killed in Train Crash at Stoughton

Three Whitewater High School wrestlers were killed and three others injured when a Milwaukee Road freight train struck their 1958 car at a guarded crossing in downtown Stoughton. The impact hurled the vehicle over 100 feet and ripped the motor from the car. victims were transported to the Dane County morgue.
