Four Directors Elected by Monroe Building Corp Board

Monroe Building Corp shareholders elected four directors at last night’s annual meeting held in the First National Bank. M. J. Gonstead, Rudolph P. Reger, and Dr. Nathan E. Bear were reelected for three years. E. C. Hamilton will serve two years of the late F. Earl Lamboley’s term. Holdovers include R. Q. O. Kittelsen, Bruce M. Blum, Arthur C. Benkett, Harold Blumer, and D. A. Crandall. Officers reappointed are Kittelsen president Crandall vice president Benkett secretary treasurer and trustees H. L. Fenton and Edward M. Adam. The firm, formed in 1957 to build a plant for Industrial Combustion Inc, reported it is meeting land contract obligations and reducing indebtedness on schedule.

Highways Still Closed by Water Near Pecatonica

Flood waters on the Pecatonica and Sugar Rivers receded slightly easing major threats. Seven county trunks in Green County remain underwater with several Lafayette County roads closed or damaged.
