Pogrob Believed Killed During Slayers Deal
Milwaukee reports indicate nightclub operator Isadore Pogrob, aged 37, was killed during a possible deal with slayers. Pogrob’s body was found in a Mequon drainage ditch, shot nine times. An informant sighted Pogrob’s white Cadillac near his home early Tuesday. Police say a second car was present and both were occupied. Seventy searchers failed to find clues. Authorities suspect an organized crime hit. $1500 Pogrob carried was missing.

Forrest Taylor Dies in Monticello After Heart Illness
Forrest L. Taylor 65 of Monticello died at 2 30 a.m. at his home after a yearlong heart condition. Born May 8, 1904 in Marshfield, he lived in Monticello since his second marriage to Mildred Lewis on July 26, 1934. Survivors include his wife, his mother Lucretia Taylor Portage, three daughters and four sons, three stepdaughters, a stepson, three brothers, and numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Services are Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Voegels funeral home with Rev. Burton Holling officiating. burial Exeter cemetery. Friends may call after noon Tuesday.

Mrs Rosa of Madison was among 90 passengers on a North Western train. Her husband learned of the crash from a 10 p.m. news broadcast and later learned his wife was aboard in Madison. The train slowed after the incident and stopped over two hours with no phone access. The Mayo Clinic in Rochester was the final destination for a visit to her mother Mrs Sommers.

Dr. Susanne Orton 88 of Darlington died in Lafayette County Memorial Hospital after a life of humanitarian work. A pioneer woman physician, she helped found the county Red Cross chapter, backed a county nurse program, supported the hospital, and engaged in school and health initiatives and suffrage efforts.
