In Madison today five Wisconsin constitutional officers were sworn in as Warren Knowles began a third term as governor. Lt. Gov. Jack Olson and Secretary of State Robert Zimmerman also took oaths, along with Harold Clemens as treasurer and Robert Warren as attorney general. New session members and party control shifts followed, with Knowles' win giving Republicans full control of state government for the first time since 1957. Chief Justice Hallows administered oaths.

Arthur Houlberg Succumbs at 47

Arthur Houlberg of Albany North of Albany at English Settlement died at St. Clare Hospital Monroe after being stricken at his farm home. He served on the Albany School Board and in the Lions Club. Survivors include his widow June Karmuth a daughter Karen Rindsig Albany High School home economics teacher and four sons Dean Glen Wayne and a son at home. Snowbound Couple Rescued After Three-Week Ordeal

In Clark County, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Willmarth were rescued by Sheriff David Bertz and three deputies after snowmobiles reached their isolated trailer, ending a 21 day confinement. The couple, trapped since December 16, survived on wildlife and used a milk can heater after heating fuel ran out. They returned to Holcombe in good condition.

Frost bites keep teens from family funeral in fire tragedy

Frostbitten teens remain in hospital unable to attend funeral rites for seven Seckora children killed in a Bloomer Wisconsin fire. The blaze claimed the lives of Debra, Dale, Douglas, Gregory, Mary Kay, Karen and Kevin, with two brothers escaping and suffering injuries. Separately a Bayside home fire killed two children and a Loyal family infant died in Clark County.

Sirhan Sirhan goes on trial in Kennedy assassination case
