Valley Forge sinks off Singapore with 37 aboard
The American freighter Valley Forge broke up on reefs 50 miles southeast of Singapore. All 37 crewmen were believed safe. Fiskerton rescued 22 crew, plus eight others were saved by a salvage tug as gales hampered efforts. Captain Petrone and six others were reported on Bintan Island. The ship, built in 1943 and owned by Peninsular Navigation Co., was en route with 10,000 tons of wheat. its cargo and value are reported at about 300,000 dollars.

Dairy farmers from Wisconsin and Illinois won a 12 million dollar annual increase after the Associated Milk Dealers and the Federated Dairy Cooperative reached a new price agreement. Class 1 milk will average 4.32 per hundred pounds, up 44 cents, with 20 cents more on Class II cream and 10 cents on Class IV butter and cheese milk starting July 1. The blended price rises about 31.5 cents from an average of 3.94, per federation president Avery A. Vose.

Cousins Injured In Illinois Crash
Two Warren cousins Ronald Larsen 18 and Henry Larsen 22 were injured in a crash on Illinois Route 78 three miles north of Stockton yesterday. Ronald remained unconscious with internal injuries and possible skull fracture while Henry had multiple injuries and his wife, who had just given birth, also was hospitalized.
