Michael Arries an 11 year old from rural Kenosha died today after wounding himself with his father's .22 revolver during a game of Russian roulette. He and a companion reportedly pointed the weapon at his head and fired twice the second discharge fatally wounding him.

Platteville Firemen Save Boys Trapped in Cave Rockfall
Two boys Perry Oats and John Wilson, aged 13 and 14, were trapped by a rockfall in a Grant County cave four miles west of Platteville. Platteville firefighters enlarged an opening with sledgehammers after seven hours, avoiding machinery to prevent another collapse. They escaped unharmed and were returned to their parents.

Madison Traffic Court forfeited bond of 153 dollars for Kuehn a 44 year old former Republican candidate for governor in 1960 and 1962 on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor. He did not appear in court after being arrested early Sunday on East Washington avenue for failing to stop a fight. He was booked in Dane County jail and released after posting bond.
