Break-in at Dearth Motors Ties Up Weekend Police
Officers investigated a break-in at Dearth Motors on Highway 11 West where more than 300 dollars in cash was stolen from a service department safe. Entry was forced with a tire iron, and two safe locks were damaged. Police noted no other money or checks taken and linked no clear connection to a separate damaged truck transmission. Also 50 gallons of gasoline disappeared from Yellowstone Lake pump, with no sign of relation to the Dearth burglary.

Small Airliner Crashes at Gainesville Killing Ten
Ten people died when a crippled South Central Airlines Beechcraft Flight 510 crashed after takeoff from Gainesville Municipal Airport. The flight originated in Ocala and was bound for Jacksonville. Airline president Sam Coester confirmed nine passengers and the pilot perished. A city employee, D M Carroll, reported observing the plane about 200 feet high before the left engine failed and whined.

Six City Youths Hurt in Lafayette Two Car Crash
Seven of the 14 injured remained hospitalized in Lafayette County after a two car crash at Hicks Corners near Darlington. Monroe youths Joseph Ripp 13 severely head injuries and four others were treated at Memorial hospital. several others including Mrs. Mable Peacock and Char lene Lyne sustained cuts and broken restraints. Police say Mrs Peacock driving a carload of youths from a Methodist event collided with the Monroe team vehicle at Highway 11 and 23 junction. three ambulances and several doctors treated victims.

William F. Renk of Sun Prairie died Sunday night in Columbus at 88. He founded the William F. Renk and Sons farm in 1936, expanded it to over 2,000 acres, and was a noted sheep breeder and farm credit leader. He served as state agriculture commissioner in the 1930s. Survivors include sons Walter and Robert, daughter Mrs Merlin Schultz, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sun Prairie.

Irked Youth 15 Kills His Mother in Milwaukee Area
A 15-year-old boy, James L. Winburn, admitted to police he killed his mother, Shirley Lisowski, 39, with a deer rifle after a Saturday argument with his stepfather over horseshoe cleats.
