A reciprocal agreement between Illinois and Iowa shields cross border workers from double income tax withholding. Illinois Revenue Director George Mahin and Iowa official William Forst signed the pact, which also provides information exchange for enforcement. Several neighboring states eye similar plans with Indiana Wisconsin Missouri and Kentucky.

Ada E Kundert Schindler 82 of Edgerton died Monday in a Janesville nursing home after a long illness. Born September 1 1887 in Monroe she worked at the First National Bank of Monroe before moving to Edgerton in 1941. She married Charles A Kundert in 1912 and had a daughter Mrs. Katherine Hurlbut. She belonged to the United Methodist Church of Edgerton and the Edgerton Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by three granddaughters and was preceded in death by two brothers and her parents.
Col. George Wells led a Monroe gathering of area graduates from three service academies to honor outstanding graduates and hopefuls. Attendees included Air Force Academy graduates Cpt. Neil Jacobs Lt. Leon Wittwer and Cadet Kenneth Schwartz, Annapolis Ensign Dave Deininger, and West Point honor cadet Mike Hoesly. Wells invites junior high students to contact him for guidance toward service academies.
