The Green County Board of Supervisors approves a new reapportionment plan to align with one man one vote. New districts in Monroe and Brodhead redefine supervisor elections with multiple at large seats in several districts and single seats in others.
Leslie W. Hanson a 16 year old of Janesville died when the car he rode in skidded on frost slick Monterey Bridge on US 51 over the Rock River. The collision raised Wisconsin 1971 highway fatalities to 1115.
