Local Briefs: Meyer Infant Admitted. Olson Suffering Injuries
Joseph Meyer, two and a half weeks old, son of Mr and Mrs Donald R Meyer of Belleville, admitted to St Clare as a surgical patient Thursday. Maria Olson, 90, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, fell getting out of bed Thursday morning at about 5. She was admitted to St Clare Hospital and underwent surgery later that day for a fractured hip, shoulder and rib.

Benkert couple welcome second daughter in Portage
Hello World Benkert of Stoughton became parents to a second daughter on December 23 at Portage Hospital. Mrs. Benkert, formerly Faye Patchin, once taught at Brodhead Elementary. Benkert, a former Monroe resident, now works at the Fort Atkinson post office. The family also includes a daughter Wendy, 1.5 years old, with grandparents Byron Patchin of Pardeeville and Clarence Benkert of Monroe.
