President Eisenhower and Mrs. Eisenhower prepare to drive from Washington to their Gettysburg Pennsylvania farm to draft the State of the Union budget and economic reports. Eau Claire Man Held For Killing Peacemaker

A 28 year old rural Eau Claire man, Loren Severson, faces manslaughter charges for the death of 80 year old Adams Ahne man. Ahne man, who lived with Carl Sherman, was attempting to break up a Christmas Eve fight over $1 at their Washington Town home when he was struck and died from a skull fracture. The arraignment before County Judge Connor Hansen was held with Severson not entering a plea. Sheriff Floyd Thompson reported the victim was felled by a punch from Severson.

Mrs William Hermans aged 42 died from burns suffered when her apron caught fire on a hot stove on December 2. She was at home and talking on the telephone at the time of the accident.

Poynette Flier Survives Crash Near Juda Wisconsin

Carl V. Anderson, 37, escaped serious harm when his plane crashed on a town road near Oakley after a low circling flight from Poynette to Ottawa Illinois. He woke after being tossed from the craft, with head lacerations and a fractured rib. He was treated at St. Clare hospital in good condition.

Milwaukee police nabbed a burglary suspect in a two story business block before a three alarm fire. The blaze caused an estimated two hundred thousand dollars in damage and police blame the intruder.
