Robbers Take 1600 From Janesville Baker

Janesville police report a robber hid in the back of a bakery truck and forced operator Robert Hiller to drive. After receiving the weekend receipts, he was ordered to take the cash to a bank before the burglar trio fled in a car west of the city.

Nelson Says Letters Support His Rubber Cheese Crack

Gov elect Gaylord Nelson says letters praising his remark that eating processed cheese is like eating processed rubber flooded in. He noted only one opposing letter, unsigned, and clarified his objection targets processed Swiss and cheddar not plain processed cheese. Anna Iseli 98 of South Wayne dies at St. Clare hospital Monroe of old age. Born November 1 1860 in Walperswyl Canton Bern Switzerland she immigrated with husband Gottfried Iseli in 1892 settling in Lafayette County. Survived by four sons a daughter ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Live Nativity Scene Draws Spectators At Church

Chicago Tollway Opens Final Section Tuesday At Four

At 4 p.m. Tuesday the last section of the 187 mile Illinois Tollway opens, linking Chicago to Wisconsin. The three toll routes Tri State Northwest and East West Tollways form a belt around Chicago with speeds from 40 to 70 mph and 24 hour Tollway Patrol service for motorists.

Knouse Hurt In Juda Area Car Truck Crash

Robert J. Knouse of Route 4 received minor knee injuries in a 7 am collision three miles south of Juda involving his car and a milk truck driven by Lowell Arnsmeier of Juda. Knouse was treated at St. Clare hospital after the accident. Deputies reported heavy damage to the car and moderate damage to the truck.

Polio Drive Head Chosen For Green County Campaign

W A Bender named chairman of the 1959 March of Dimes drive in Green County to start in January by Leland Lamboley of the county foundation. Bender, married to Joyce Pease of Monticello, has a three year old daughter Lora and a banking career including assistant cashier roles and a FCC examiner post. Kenosha police report Ivo Ivanic 26 confessed to robbing and killing nightclub operator Arthur Molinaro on December 4. He said a need for money to fund drinking led to the crime and that the murder weapon was tossed into Pine Creek. bullets found by a diver matched the weapon, corroborating part of his account.

Winter Arrives Brings Uncertain Holidays Weather

Six Weyenberg children Lynn seven Douglas six Margar et five John three Barbara two Michael one perished in a blaze that trapped them in a bathroom as the parents, returning from Holy Cross Church, watched helplessly. Firemen recovered Douglas at the stair foot and the others in the bathroom from smoke and burns.
