A tiny cemetery on the Wisconsin Illinois state line near Monroe holds seven Bowens and two Brewster children. The Bowen family has owned the farm since 1835, now owned by Mrs Wesley Bowen. Notable dates include Thomas S Bowen born 1808 died 1883 and J Bowen born 1804 died 1870. Burials in private cemeteries have not been allowed for some time.
U S Sabre pilots claimed three Communist MIG-15s shot down near the Yalu River in a tense day of air battles. She was born September 9 1878 in New Glarus and leaves a son a daughter two sisters two brothers and two grandchildren. Services set for 2 pm tomorrow at Zenter funeral home New Glarus with Rev Lynn F B Tschudy officiating. Burial in New Glarus cemetery.

Leo Doll longtime postmaster of Soldiers Grove Wisconsin, age 60, died at his home today after suffering a heart attack. He served as postmaster since 1935.
Gov. Kohler announced a plan to trim state department requests by about 30 million in the 1953 55 biennium to balance the budget without new taxes. He cited duplications and aging programs, urged user pays for certain services, and warned many groups would be offended by cuts while insisting core government remains effective.
