A gospel music writer and evangelistic author he led the Rodeheaver Half-Mack Co and operated a Florida ranch for underprivileged boys. He began as a college cheerleader at Ohio Wesleyan University before joining Sunday.

Evansville Area Home Destroyed in Farm Blaze
A rural Evansville two story farm home west of town was destroyed by a Saturday afternoon fire. Damages were estimated near 15 000 with only the deep freeze dining room set and small articles saved. The Jenkins family and their two young sons lost clothing and bedding and moved to a neighbor’s farm. Firefighters reported the attic origin, seen from two miles away, and the blaze required three hours to control. The home on the Ernest Dewey farm near Rock County line was nearly remodeled and lightly insured.

Cherry Valley Man Dies in County Crash
A Cherry Valley man died and Albany couple were injured Saturday afternoon in a two car crash two miles west of Footville at Rock County Trunk B and Coon Island road. Thorvald Olson 28 died at Mercy hospital Janesville. Donald F Cleveland 27 and his wife were hospitalized with serious injuries. Olson's death leaves a widow and son Herbert in Rockford. Arrangements are being made in Rockford.
