Wendland resigns as director of state fair
Roy Allins, deputy administrator, named acting director to replace Vernon G. Wendland who announced his resignation effective December 25. Wendland, 51, had led the fair since 1966 and joined as a full time employee in 1957. The resignation came as a new state Fair Board, appointed by Gov.
