Cheese Group Holds Election at Wisconsin Swiss Producers Meeting
Officers of the Wisconsin Swiss and Limburger Cheese Producers Association were to be elected this afternoon. Edgar Judd of Dane County was chosen as a new director, replacing Lyman McKee of Madison. Directors re-elected included Ray Silver, John Burke, William Lauper, and Robert Calvert. Officers present were McKee as president, Galli as treasurer-manager, and Miss Eleanor Frederick as secretary. The meeting approved a one half-cent per hundred pounds milk checkoff, with a possible one-cent rate in emergencies, and adopted resolutions on dairy stabilization, standby support for Swiss cheese, and bond waivers for cooperatives. The gathering featured talks by officials from the State Department of Agriculture on promotion and parity prices, and Alice in Dairyland Barbara Brown discussed national tours and a deer she shot. The group also considered continuing the Green County Fair.

Groves Calls Agriculture Sick and Urges Industry Unity
William Groves of Lodi, president of Pure Milk Cooperative, told Wisconsin cheese farmers in Turner Hall the agriculture and Swiss cheese industry are ill. He urged balancing supply and demand, shrinking government role, and continued advertising, warning that both parties share responsibility for the farm crisis and urging farmers to unite to back any program.

Officers Named By Green County Youth Council
Joan Hammer or Monroe was elected president of the newly organized Green County Youth Council at Monticello high school yesterday. Doran Blum New Glarus was named vice president Donna Gustafson Monroe is secretary Wanda Kay Harden Monticello corresponding secretary and Jerry Powers Albany treasurer. Monroe was chosen as the site for the Green County Youth Conference to be held Feb 17. Committees will be chosen by community council groups with Monroe in charge of arrangements and Monticello publicity New Glarus invitations and registrations and Albany finance. The group favors the Junior Red Cross Council and will assist Mrs William Mueller county Junior Red Cross chairman. The next meeting will be held Sunday in Albany.

John Howard Lundy, 59, a Wisconsin Telephone Co. toll lineman, died of a heart attack at 8:25 a m in Janesville after arriving at his place of employment. Born July 28 1896 in New Richmond he leaves his wife Leona M Aeschlimann and two daughters Lois and Jo Ann plus four sisters. A World War I veteran he was a church trustee and member of the Knights of Columbus. Services are pending.
