Glenn L. Martin, aviation pioneer and founder of the Glenn L. Martin Co., died in Baltimore after a cerebral hemorrhage. Two Truckers Die In Tomah Area Crash
Two truck drivers were killed Sunday night at the junction of Highways 21 and 12 near Tomah. The victims were Robert Meyers, 28, of Haywarden Iowa, and Murrell Nelson, 30, of Chippewa Falls. Officials said one truck ran a stop sign on Highway 21 into the path of the other. icy roads contributed to the collision.

A cold wave moved into the area with near zero temperatures forecast. Temperatures fell to 7 above at 6 am and 14 above at 1 pm after a weekend of rain sleet freezing rain fog and snow flurries. Open House At Biggs Factory In Argyle Wisconsin
The Biggs cheese factory northeast of Argyle opened to the public with an all day open house drawing 500 visitors despite cold wind. Cheesemakers from southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois viewed the plant, designed for flexible operation to produce various cheeses. Gottfried Wirtz returned as cheesemaker and the first cheese was produced on November 15, following a fire that destroyed the prior unit on June 14 with a $100000 loss.
