City band opens 27th Christmas concert at Pleasant View
The Monroe City Band starts its Christmas Concert Season Sunday December 5 at 1 30 p m at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Allan F Barnard says residents staff guests and friends will hear vocal soloists Jane Olson Mike Olson and Tom Peterson with a vocal quartet Hollis Schilt Roberta Haldiman Jenny Gempeler and Vicki Neuberger. A brass ensemble with John McElhaney Hollis Schilt Bob Lanz Frederick Voegels Dr Joe Ganshert and Bob Grossman performs including a humorous number and a traditional melody. Scott Weckerly solos Carol of the Drum on piccolo snare. The tuba section performs Frosty the Snow Man. This is the band’s 27th annual concert at Pleasant View, formerly Green County Farm.
