Phillip H. Darling was recommended as director for the Urban Renewal Administration and Jack Erb, street superintendent, reported clean up work is progressing well after Thursday night's cyclone. Erb thanked Rees Construction Co. and others for long hours of storm cleanup. The Board authorized purchasing another chain saw. Darling will assume duties tomorrow at 150 dollars monthly.

Fire at Vincent Residence Causes Minor Burner Damage
Monroe firemen responded to Alger Vincent home at 1706 9th Ave to extinguish a blaze in an oil burning space heater. Assistant Chief Frederick Lanz said the heater overloaded or overheated, the Vincents poured water on it, and the fire was out when crews arrived. No house damage, minor burner damage reported.

Gov Warren P Knowles signed the order establishing Wisconsin its 1965 waterfowl season, criticizing federal rules. Avalanche Threat Halts Rescue at Mattmark Power Site
Night rescue progress was minimal as the Allalin Glacier cracked and unleashed a massive avalanche at the Mattmark power project near Saas Fee Switzerland. About 1,000 workers were evacuated with six bodies recovered and two months projected to recover all remains.
