Parish reshuffle names Korback new Madison North Side parish
Rev. Lawrence Korback, pastor in Albany and Brodhead since 1959, is named pastor of a new North Side Madison parish in Burke Town on a 16.3 acre tract. Bishop Cletus F. O'Donnell announced the transfers and Rev Wilfred E. Shea will succeed Korback in Brodhead and Albany assignments. Shea has held multiple hospital and parish roles and will return to Green County from St Patrick’s, Albany, to lead St Rose of Brodhead and St Patrick’s, Albany.

Attorneys Are Paid In Brinkman Defense
Two Madison attorneys received 1705 for defending Ronald Brinkman 23 Lombard Illinois on two rape charges. Circuit Judge William Sachtsen approved the fee and had Riley handle the case. Brinkman formerly pleaded insanity then guilty after psychiatric tests and received a 15 year sentence.

Man Found Dead on Blanchardville Farm
Thomas Hermanson a York Township farmer about 60 was found dead beneath an overturned tractor on the family farm east of Blanchardville. His wife summoned help after he did not return from checking cows. Officials and coroners from Green and Lafayette counties were at the scene.

Monroe School System Shifts to Full Day Friday Start
All Monroe students except Kindergarten will begin a full day on Friday after orientation and registration. St Victor's School students also start Friday with specific early dismissal times. Kindergarten registers Thursday and begins Friday with a full day for all. Bus tests, hot lunch, milk programs restart in stages with meals beginning Friday at senior and junior high, and St Victor's Tuesday.
