About 100 residents packed the Green County Ag Building for a three hour public hearing before the Board of Adjustments on plans by Southwest Wisconsin Park Producers to build six farrowing houses and a four employee office on 90 acres three miles south of Belleville. A petition signed by 33 Exeter farmers seeks an appeal arguing the site belongs in agricultural use and would harm property values health and create a nuisance. no decision was announced as the board scheduled a closed session to review testimony. The swine project near the Wisconsin Swine Testing Station is not connected to the testing station which is funded by the University of Wisconsin Midland Coop and the Wisconsin Pork Producers.
