An Air Force C-46 heavy transport crash landed and caught fire at Joplin airport last night. Copilot Lt Joseph A Sheppard of Overland Park Kansas suffered a head laceration. No other injuries were reported.

Veterans of two wars who are past members of the Red Arrow unit will join members of the 32nd Infantry division at the Labor Day weekend convention and reunion in La Crosse September 3 4 and 5. A parade Sunday will highlight the event with 19 division units marching. Memorial services are set for Riverside Park and the Sunday banquet and dance close the program. The Saturday lineup features a stag smoker in the afternoon and a dance in the evening.
