Bond Sale Supports New Monroe Cementary School Project

The Monroe School District accepted The Northern Trust Co. and Associates low bid of 4.91572 percent on a $1.3 million bond issue for a south side school. Net interest cost is $441,186. Seven bidders ranged from 4.91572 to 5.095 percent. occupancy targeted for January 1978. Architects Bradley and Bradley propose a storage area. bids for Phase 1 to be opened Sept. 23. Board approves two teaching contracts for Debra Gunnelson and Richard Johnson.

McDonald's plans Monroe site pending sewer reroute

McDonald's aims to build a 135 to 145 seat restaurant on Monroe's west side after sewer line relocation. A spokesman said the project hinges on moving the sewer line at developer expense. McDonald's has not yet purchased the property near Wis 11 west and Dairy Queen.
