Flames Destroy Cuba City Plant
A large fire destroyed about two thirds of the Jadco Manufacturing Co plant near Cuba City in the early hours of Wednesday. Cuba City Benton and Hazel Green fire departments fought the blaze starting at 12 15 a.m. using water pumped from Cuba City and supplied by milk trucks. The cause is unknown and damage estimates were not available. The building housed 32 rolls of newsprint for the Tri County Press and all were ruined.

Swiss Chorus Set to Sing at City Band Concert Monday
The Green County Swiss Mixed Chorus directed by Christian Garner performs at the eighth summer band concert on Monday August 28 at 8 p.m. in the Twining Park Bandshell. Allan F. Barnard leads the Monroe City Band in the final Cheese Days concert before the parade. La Pulga a flute ensemble piece by Richard Blalock is performed by Mrs. Roy Gempeler Joseph Benkert and Christi Ault with Frederick Schuetze as vocalist. Spectators have ample seating and band members tune up at 7:45.
