Olson Receives Marine Duty Call For Active Service
Dale W. Olson 25 city police officer was ordered to report September 12 for physical examination at Great Lakes naval training station and active duty with the Marine Corps. Olson, a sergeant in inactive reserves, could be sent to Camp LeJuene North Carolina after the exam. He rejoined the police force July 17 as two more officers were approved. Olson lives with his wife and child at 70 3 1/2 Street and entered service in July 1943, discharged November 1945. He is the first Monroe Marine reservist called to active duty and is classified 3 B.
